Brand New Beginner

Alison Driscoll, Ayerveda

Our Brand New Beginner Course teaches the fundamental principles that work quickly to improve your posture, alleviate pain, and focus your mind. After your very first class, you will feel relaxed and energized. After eight classes, you will understand why yoga is the oldest, most effective system of wellness in existence. We strongly encourage all beginners to attend this course and welcome intermediate students to help them deepen their understanding of the yoga process.

The Brand New Beginner Course (BNB) consists of eight classes. The cost is $130. Pre-registration is required. Full-time students must pre-register in person to receive a discounted rate of $115 (student ID required). Please don't forget to fill out the new student form after registration. Click the link at the bottom of the course schedule below (payment is separate from new student form). We encourage all registered BNB students to attend our Stationary Sequence (SS) classes offered during the Brand New Beginner Course at no additional cost.

Accepted online payment methods: Visa or MasterCard only. Check, cash, and gift certificate are accepted at the centers. Please call 302.654.YOGA with any additional questions.

How does the BNB Work?

Each BNB class builds on the previous one. You will learn all the fundamental elements that make up the Empowered Yoga Methodology. Please arrive 15 minutes before your first class. During the first class, you will receive an orientation to our centers and an overview of Empowered Yoga Methodology. You will begin learning the Stationary Sequence (SS), a series of postures that strengthens the mind and body while bringing you into greater balance. In your first class, you will learn eight to ten postures.

During the second class, your teacher will guide you through the postures presented in the first class. Additional postures will then be introduced. If you miss a class, you may fall a bit behind, but rest assured that our teachers will assist you. It is important to attend all eight BNB classes in the month in which you have registered. It is also very important that you make an effort to attend at least one other SS class (at no additional charge) during each week. If you can attend a minimum of 12 classes during the first month of your yoga career, you will begin to experience the powerful benefits that practicing Empowered Yoga yields.

The remaining six BNB classes will continue to break down the postures and the yoga process. The course will enable you to develop a strong foundation upon which you can build a strong yoga practice and a newfound sense of awareness.
